Dehydration occurs when you use or lose more fluid than you take in. Your body is in a state of dehydration when it does not have enough water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions. You become dehydrated when you do not replace lost fluids during exercising, hot weather, intense diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or excessive sweating. During survival situation when water may not be available you have to watch your family and friends for signs of dehydration.
